Soprema SBS-Modified Bitumen Base Ply

ELASTOPHENE Flam is an SBS-modified bitumen base ply for use in approved multi-ply membrane and flashing assemblies. ELASTOPHENE Flam is composed of a proprietary formulation of elastomeric styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer modified bitumen and is reinforced with a high quality random glass fiber mat. The topside and underside are surfaced with polyolefin burn-off film to optimize heat welding.

Hunter Cool Vent

Cool-Vent is a venting composite insulation board that consists of
a 4'x8' panel of rigid polyiso, a middle layer of solid wood spacers,
creating a standard 1" air space and a top layer of APA/TECO
rated OSB or plywood. Cool-Vent is the environmentally intelligent
choice for steep slope roofing applications and is viable in green and
sustainable building designs.

Semper Green Technology

Semper Green endeavors to provide the most appropriate green roof for your project, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Currently they are the world’s largest supplier of vegetation blankets for green roofs and instant ground covering as well as pre-cultivated living wall panels.

They offer a green roof tray system that is an easily adaptable solution to existing roofs or incorporated on top of a new membrane. Also their pre-grown sedum blankets with chemically engineered soils help the plants thrive in this area's tough environment are an excellent solution that is time tested and provides the owner piece of mind that the roof will be covered on day one.

These green roofing systems are backed by Sopranature's single source warranty.

Two key benefits to greens roofs are the stormwater management aspects as well as energy savings that are realized each month. During heavy rainfall events, runoff in commercialized areas is inevitable due to all the impervious surfaces such as pavements and rooftops. In the Washington DC Metro area management of this storm-water is a serious issue. In most big storm events the sewer systems simply cannot handle the amount of incoming water. This results in an overflow and pollution to our local water sources however green roofs can alleviate this issue pressure on the storm-water infrastructures by retaining up to 75% of the rainfall. The District offers a green roof incentive program for residential and commercial owners.

Also saving on building energy costs due to green roofs being such great insulators. This will help reduce peak energy demands by lowering cooling costs in the summer months and heating costs during winter months. During the summer the temperature of a green roof tends to be about 20% lower than the ambient temperature. Putting this into perspective, on a 100 summer day your rooftop will be about 80 versus a conventional roof that could get up to 150 degrees in these conditions. Also not to mention your HVAC is located on the roof and pulling directly from the ambient air just above your roof, thus making your HVAC run 20% more efficient with the cooler air intake. On average owners see a 20-30% savings on cooling costs during the summer and around 10% reduction in heating costs during the winter.
